About the Position: Serve as Project Manager for a variety of programs which may include physical and electronic security systems; utility monitoring and control systems; ranges and training lands management; energy privatization and competitive sourcing; energy analysis, validation, and execution; facility and utility operation, maintenance, repair, rehabilitation, and demolition; furnishings; medical facility operation, and other activities of entities relative to assigned programs.
Major Duties
Manage criteria development, planning and design execution of assigned projects.,Monitor dollar amount utilization on contracts, coordinate changes and additions, and advise when replacement contracts are anticipated.,Work and communicate with customers both within and outside of the organization/federal government to provide quality service and satisfy expectations.,Prepare correspondence for higher authority, other government agencies, field offices, public officials, civic organizations, and contractors concerning planning, direction, and execution of the work.,Plan, schedule, task, and monitor the progress of others in the procurement of contracts, serving as the single point of contact for status of contract acquisitions.,Identify and develop ways to resolve problems or cope with issues which directly affect the accomplishment of principal programs of the Huntsville Center.

Specialized Experience: One-year specialized experience in which includes: planning, developing, coordinating and implementing processes and procedures to manage assigned projects inclusive of varied complex features concerning functional, technical, and administrative project aspects and leading project delivery teams (PDTs); participating in and/or conducting negotiations with contractors for project cost and timelines; utilizing qualitative methods for the assessment and improvement of program effectiveness or the improvement of complex management processes and systems related to projects; recommending cost effective means of collecting data from the field and means of categorizing this data to ensure proper application to future projects. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the Federal Service (GS-12). Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
